DIY Solid Perfume

This DIY solid perfume is a wonderful addition to your natural beauty regime. It's made from only 100% pure ingredients and is totally customizable to your liking!

I personally have been using solid perfume for ages and I love it. It lasts forever, the scent is much purer and it's not full of harmful chemicals and toxins. It's also fairly simple to make at home. I say fairly as one of the base ingredients is beeswax which can be a bit tricky, but we'll get into that in a second.

Of course, perfume is a very personalized product, so I encourage you to make this recipe your own by changing out the essential oils. I'm using ones that I personally like, but you can make up whatever blend you want.

If you're new to essential oils, I recommend that you go to your local natural food store or Whole Foods and smell the testers they have. From there you can find a few that you like and add them to your perfume!

For my perfume, I used grapefruit, Joy and Stress Away, both of which are blends from Young Living Essential Oils.

The base of the perfumes is a combination of beeswax and coconut oil, and then you just add your oils and done!

When you're making this solid perfume, definitely melt the beeswax first (I used a double boiler) and then, with it still on the heat, add the remaining ingredients. Beeswax hardens quickly so keeping it on the heat just helps make the process a heck of a lot easier.

Once you have everything combined you can transfer them to jars (I used 1oz jars) and they'll harden in minutes. Apply a bit to your wrists and neck and you'll be smelling like a million bucks without spray harmful ingredients all over your body!
