Deviled Strawberries

Deviled strawberries are easy to make for a party or gathering, but just as fitting for a late night snack. Juicy, sweet strawberries are topped whipped cream, graham cracker crumbs, and honey for a treat that feels indulgent, but actually isn’t!

If you’re a foodie on TikTok, you’re probably familiar with the concept of deviled strawberries—halved berries topped with a sweetened cream cheese mixture. This is my take on the viral sensation!

Basically, I wanted to take the original idea and make it something I could eat a LOT of—because too much cream cheese can definitely leave you feeling weighed down. Swapping the cream cheese for whipped cream makes deviled strawberries much more snackable! I also add graham cracker crumbs and honey on top for a little extra sweetness and texture.

These bite-sized treats are perfect for any occasion, whether it's a potluck, holiday, or a game day get-together with friends. And like Mint Chocolate Energy Balls and No Bake Pumpkin Cheesecake Bites, they're also a great snack idea for those times when you want to satisfy your sweet tooth without indulging in a heavy dessert.

What You’ll Need

  • Strawberries – While I love small, sweet local strawberries in the summertime, this is a recipe where you do want the berries to be of a decent size so they can hold the topping.
  • Whipped cream – You can use store-bought whipped cream or homemade.
  • Graham crackers – These add texture and give the deviled strawberries cheesecake vibes.
  • Honey – The perfect finishing touch!

How to Make Deviled Strawberries

  • Prepare the berries. Use a paring knife to cut the top from each strawberry. Cut them in half lengthwise, then remove the core with a small spoon. Pat the berries dry and arrange on a plate or tray.
  • Add the whipped cream. Pipe whipped cream into the center of each berry.
  • Finish. Sprinkle with the crushed graham crackers, then add a drizzle of honey.

Tips for Success

  • Start with the most delicious berries. They’re really the star of the show here! If the berries are under-ripe or mushy, you won’t have a standout dessert.
  • Dry them well. Make sure to pat the strawberries dry before filling to keep the whipped cream from sliding off or deflating.
  • Skip the piping bag if needed. If you don’t have a piping bag, simply cut off the corner of a plastic bag to fill the strawberries with the whipped cream. Or, if you’re just making deviled strawberries for yourself as a snack, use a spoon to dollop the whipped cream on top.

Variations

  • Swap out the graham crackers for crushed Oreos.
  • Instead of crumbs, try adding shaved dark chocolate, chopped cacao nibs, or fresh lemon zest.
  • Make your deviled strawberries vegan by using Coconut Whipped Cream.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon or cocoa powder on top of the whipped cream.

How to Store

If you happen to have any leftover deviled strawberries, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one day. That said, these are really best enjoyed immediately or within a few hours.

Can I Freeze This Recipe?

I don’t recommend it. Strawberries tend to lose their texture and become mushy when frozen and thawed. This is a dessert to enjoy fresh!
