Healthy Vegan Nutella Brownies
These vegan nutella brownies are a healthy dessert the whole family will love. These brownies are packed with nutrients, while also being sweet and decadent!
We're making fudgy brownies with a twist! Brownies that taste out of this world amazing, but are still healthy, gluten-free, oil-free, dairy-free, egg-free and refined sugar-free.
Remember last week when we whipped up that Superfood Nutella recipe? We chatted in that post about a few ways you could use it, but since you seem to love it so much, I thought I'd give you another idea.
These Healthy Vegan Nutella Brownies are legit. They're super simple to make, are ready in under 30 minutes, use just one bowl and like I said, taste awesome.
They're chocolatey, they're hazelnutty, they're slightly sweet and they definitely have that Nutella-ness coming through!
This recipe is actually a spin on my Vegan Peanut Butter Quinoa Bar recipe, but with our vegan nutella and some cacao powder.
The primary ingredients are the nutella of course, but also quinoa flour. I love using quinoa flour in recipes like this because it helps make the recipe a bit higher in protein, but it also helps them not be crumbly.
One thing to note about quinoa flour is that it can sometimes have a very strong, almost bitter taste. I've found when I use quinoa flour in recipes that have a strong flavor base (like chocolate or coffee), I can't taste the quinoa, but in more delicately flavored recipes, you might want to consider toasting your quinoa flour.
I have a whole tutorial on the blog about how to toast quinoa flour, and it's super easy, so I definitely recommend giving it a go if the flavor throws you off!
What I think you'll love about the recipe?
They're nice and fudgy
They double as a healthy snack
They're not too sweet
They're kid-friendly
And did I mention they're easy to make?
Yes, also very easy to make!
Happy baking, friends! I can't wait to see your recreations of these vegan nutella brownies ❤ make sure to share a picture with us on Instagram tagging @simplyquinoa or #simplyquinoa!

Yay! I’m so glad you liked them!
Is there something I can substitute for the quinoa flour?
You could try another grain flour or maybe chickpea!

Is the nutrition label for the whole batch of brownies or just one brownie. For example is the whole batch 91 calories?
Just one brownie!

Thank you so much!! xo
Hi Alyssa! I’d love to make these brownies for my family. However, we really, really love brownies. We love them so much, in fact, that making only an 8″ x 8″ pans may lead chaos. I was wondering if I can tweak the recipe to make them in a 9″ x 13″ pan? Thank you!
Sure! I think you could just double the recipe 🙂 Enjoy them!!
Hi, Alyssa. I have become very interested in your recipes and using quinoa, as my husband had open heart surgery 2 years ago, so I’m trying to “redo” our recipes and our eating habits. I just printed the nutella brownie recipe, but the nutrition facts do not print out on the recipe. I was wondering if you are aware of this and why that happens? 🙂
Thank you for your recipes and your site, which is helping us change our eating habits some.
Blessings.
Thanks for letting me know! I’ll speak to my development team and see if we can get that fixed for you 🙂 xox
Oh, I have always wanted to try using quinoa flour! There are some delicious pancake recipes with it. Your vegan nutella brownies are probably the first brownies I have seen use quinoa flour, and they look divine! I love how rich and decadent each square looks. Can’t imagine them NOT being addictive!
This is SUCH a great recipe to try it out with. Definitely hides the flavor a bit 😉 xo
